ADPLL for Automotive Radar Transceiver

SUCCESS STORY

Epoch successfully completed development of phase lock loop with digital phase detector and digital loop filter for Epoch customer.

This was achieved thanks to extensive use Epoch silicon proven bulding level silicon IPs. For this project the digital phase detector, loop filter, and digital to analog converter were custom designed.

Fractional-N PLL with time-to-digital based phase detector and VCO auto-band calibration.

Internal programmable modulations for automotive radar Implements delta-sigma noise cancellation and 2-point modulation integrated bandgap reference, and voltage regulators.

Automotive Radar Transceiver

SUCCESS STORY

Epoch successfully completed porting of 2x2 automotive radar transceiver to alternative silicon process.

Epoch ported customer developed LNA/MIXER/IFPGA and ported Epoch developed bandgap reference, LDOs, automotive-radar PLL, frequency doubler and PA.

Analog PLL for Automotive Radar

SUCCESS STORY

Epoch has achieved 1st pass functional success with the analog phase lock loop for application in automotive radar.

This was achieved thanks to heavy use of Epoch's silicon proven schematic IP. VCO and dividers were customized to the automotive radar Frequency range of operation and only the ramp generator was custom designed.

Beam Steering Transceiver

SUCCESS STORY

Epoch customer achieved 1st pass silicon success during development of beam steering transceiver. This was made possible by heavy use of Epoch's building block IPs; such as bandgap references, LDOs, and many of the PLL related building blocks. Phase interpolators, and RX/TX chains were custom designed.

Up-conversion mixer + PA-driver (4x TX).

7-bit PGAs (4x RX, 4x TX).

9-bit phase interpolators (4x RX, 4x TX).

ITS Transceiver

SUCCESS STORY

Epoch has achieved 1st pass silicon success during development of ITS transceiver for V2V/V2X automotive communications.

Digital baseband was supplied by the customer and Epoch developed the RF transceiver, and performed top integration of the SOC.

To achieve success, we reused IP building blocks such as PLL, bandgap references, LDOs, frequency dividers, lowpass filters and programmable gain amplifiers. Building blocks were ported and tuned to target operating frequencies.

Direct up conversion transmitter with AM detector for LO-leakage, sideband suppression, image rejection calibration thru loopback mode.

Epoch achieved 1st pass silicon functionality for the customer developing TV tuner IC thanks in part to heavy use of Epoch's building block IPs such as bandgap references, amplifiers, and oscillators. Most of the receive chain was custom designed for the application.
